Frequently Asked Questions
The answer is nearly always YES! The Carbon Offroad winch range has been specifically designed to fit into the numerous commercially available bullbars on the market today.
It contains the industry standard 254 mm x 114.3mm mounting bolt pattern which allows it to bolt to the mounting plate on a winch compatible bullbar.
For a while, ARB made a bullbar designed for a M8274-50 high mount Warn winch. You can still bolt a low mount winch into this bar, but you may need to purchase our 25mm mounting spacer kit to clear the sharp return from the extended mounting plate back to the bullbar wings.
In nearly every other case we have seen or can think of, including small vehicles like Suzuki Jimny's, our winches will fit, unlike some other brands with excessive motor length dimensions.
We alwasy recommend you double check the winch dimensions drawing on the listing, or contact us for more information and we will be happy to help you decide on your setup.
If you have a CW-12k, Scout Pro or ATV winch the wireless remote has operating instructions embossed on the back side.
You need to activate the remote prior to using it. You can do this as follows:
Hold down both IN and OUT buttons until the centre LED flashed Red, The remote is now active.
The remote will turn off after 90 seconds of no use, You need to reactivate the remote again prior to use.
We hear this a lot. Our bullshit "o" meter is pinging off the scale anytime a customer rings us with this query.
In most cases, like 99.99% of cases, the shop staff are using the easiest excuse in the book not to sell you one of our quality winches,
We urge you to challenge this statement with facts. We know our winches fit nearly all bullbars on the market in a straight bolt in fashion, so it would have to be something weird for them to give you this reason.
Whatever their agenda, stay strong, try another shop or simply buy the winch directly from us and let our team guide you on the install. It's not hard and you will learn alot about your rig and the winch system, which is valuable as you will be the one using it when you need it most.
Technically, yes, we do. Out coilover shocks are all threaded preload
adjustable, so are capable of increasing ride height up to 100mm above stock.
Is this a good idea? On most Dual Cab and 4x4 wagons the stock IFS system
simply doesn't have enough travel to allow for a safe and good ride quality
outcome. We will advise against this because you will have no extension travel,
the shock will not have time to actually do its job of damping, you run the
risk of damaging a lot of different components, and even though it looks good,
it'll ride like shit buddy!
Take it from us, don't be fooled into thinking a 4 inch lift is a good idea.
It's not. Speak to us about a quality setup for your rig, suited to your
requirements, destinations and driving style.
Diesel Power Modules have been distributed by Carbon Offroad for the last ten years. We have run them on every single compatible vehicle we have owned with zero problems, only solid benefits in drivability, fuel economy and power increases for towing and daily driving.
Most internet "experts" will bag out a plug and play module system in favour of a full "tune". The fallacy is that with a tune, they are actually doing anything specific to your vehicle, in most cases they are simply uploading a static file from a server in the USA or Europe with no knowledge on your vehicle or requirements.
The diesel power module is specifically designed to integrate with your vehicle, provide safe and reasonable levels of HP and torque increases without hitting the factory OEM limits that are set to maintain long term engine reliability and are the results of thousands of hours of OEM R&D testing.
The modules are certified to meet all emissions standards as well, making it one of the only aftermarket power upgrades that won't see you get a canary from the EPA.
