The Carbon Winch features a newly upgraded rating of IP68, so your river crossings and mud runs are stress free, featuring a breathable membrane style motor breather for heat expansion and contraction. The Carbon Winch gets your recovery done with ease by using the wireless or wired remote(both included) from the safety and convenience of your driver's seat.  IP68 meaning - Ingress Protection - 6 - Can withstand dust and dirt.  8 - Can be submerged under freshwater for 30 minutes up to 1.5mtrs depth, but not during operation.

If you're capable with a few basic tools, installing a Carbon Winch is easy, with step by step instructions and many extras included to get the job done. We also thought of your safety by including an isolator switch with extra cabling, so when you're not using your winch it's safely turned off and no live power wires are at the front of your vehicle.

Mounting the control box is easy with a multi fit system that can either be mounted on the winch, above the winch drum or motor . Or with the bracket can be mounted to the vehicle or on top of your bullbar. As you know, "looks" are a big part of any 4x4 build, so we have included in your winch kit an ultra sexy CNC'd anodised alloy signature Carbon fairlead paired with our own robust designed hook that makes you stand out from the crowd. • The Battery Isolator Switch supplied with the kit must be installed. Would you have a non-isolated or fused battery cable running to the back of your vehicle for towing or other Auxiliary uses? No. The winch is the same, it's power feed must be isolated to protect you and your car in the event of a multitude of unforeseen circumstances that can occur, such as a frontal accident, an unfused 500 amp cable can catch fire extremely fast when shorted out against a body component.
• Wireless remote control unit with a lanyard- FULLY SEALED RECEIVER UNIT built into the control box. Simple to activate by holding both buttons down for 3 seconds to activate the remote control and turns off after 90 seconds of inactivity. 
• The Rotating ring gear clutch design is used for easy low drag free spool. This is arguably the easiest winch to free spool on the market. 
• Electroplated planetary gear sets for long life
• 3 layer membrane breather unit pre-fitted to the electric motor to allow condensation to evaporate and equalise pressure during heat cycles.

• 4 position mounting for the control box bracket over the motor, over the drum, on top for flat mounting plates and in front of the winch for the top mounting control box when the winch is mounted vertically. But in addition, we didn't stop there - We made the winch even better. 

Many other products on the market simply didn't prove worthy in the Australian Outback including some very popular world renowned brands, so we built our own. A strong following in the Australian market developed with proven results across thousands of customers and 5 years on the market. A full redesign of the winch over a 6 month period between January  and June 2021, results in the V2 CW-12K, a culmination of 5 years of using, supplying and receiving feedback from our customers and dealer network as we improved on many aspects of the original market proven winch design.

How to apply for a warranty:

Contact the seller of your Carbon Winch to discuss the problem.If your seller deems that the issue with the winch cannot be addressed other than through a warranty claim, the seller is required to contact Carbon Winches Australia on behalf of the user.Carbon Winches Australia will attempt to identify if the issue can be resolved without seeing the components in question, or may ask for additional proof such as images or video.If it is deemed that the winch or components are required to be sent back to Carbon Winches Australia, the customer is to make arrangements to return them to our location at their expense.Once the winch has been returned along with a copy of proof of purchase, Carbon Winches Australia will assess the warranty claim and provide feedback on a successful or unsuccessful claim. The winch will be repaired and then arranged to be sent back to the customer. If the work is covered under warranty Carbon Winches Australia will bear the return shipping cost. If not, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs.

The mechanical components of the Carbon Winch will be free of defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the:winch gearbox housing, clutch ring gear, planetary gear sets, driveshaft and brake mechanismdrum endplates and cross barswinch rope drum That the electrical components including the electric motor and solenoid will be free of defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 5 years.That the wireless remote receiver and transmitter unit will be free of defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 5 years (battery not included)Winches must always be fitted by a competent person skilled in winch installation. A winch is a potentially dangerous piece of equipment and must be installed correctly.  

The warranty does not cover or apply to:

The warranty is void if the winch:

Is used in any commercial or industrial use or application, or any hoisting application.If the minimum recommended battery size requirements stated for that particular winch are not adhered to.Winches that have been incorrectly installed or wired.Has been damaged by accident, abuse, misuse, collision, overloading, modification, misapplication, improper installation or improper maintenance or servicing.Does not have the supplied isolator switch installed or an approved failsafe switch / fuse with a method of power disconnection with a mininum rating of 400amps installed.

No Carbon Winches Australia dealer, agent or employee is authorised to make any modification, extension or addition to this warranty or represent Carbon Winches Australia in any verbal or written correspondence with regard to any warranty claim unless expressly approved by the Director.

Carbon Winches Australia reserve the right to change product design without notice. In situations in which Carbon Winches Australia has changed a product design they shall have no obligation to upgrade or otherwise modify previously manufactured products.

Water Ingress Protection Warranty

CW-12K Winches dispatched after 24th December 2016 from Carbon Winches Australia will come with a 5 year Water Ingress Protection Warranty. This warranty covers:

Mechanical components failure due to water ingress of the electric motor, gearbox and brake mechanism.Electrical components failure of the electric motor, wireless receiver unit and electric solenoid unit

Protecting your winch from water ingress:

There are no conditions on maintaining your IP Warranty. However we would like you to understand the following information about your winch to get the best out of it in the long term.

The rubber lip seals on the winch rope drum are a wear item, they are subject to exposure to the elements and abrasive materials such as mud, sand, salt, dirt and other environmental contaminants and will wear out with use of your winch.

We recommend you replace the drum lip seals every 12 months or as often as you feel necessary dependant on the use of your winch. These are available for sale on the website.

This will ensure that your winch maintains its high standard of waterproofing and provide you with years of hassle free operation. 

We highly recommend you download and read the maintenance and first use guideline document before installing and operating your winch. 

Warranty for 4500lb and 17000lb winches

Coverage for failure of the winch motor, solenoid unit, wireless remote control receiver and transmitter, plug in remote control

If Carbon Winches has an authorised distributor in the region as indicated on the dealer locator, they will be responsible for servicing your warranty. If the winch was bought from Australia, please make contact with the Australian office for warranty support. Replacement parts, service items and other components covered under warranty may be provided free of charge, however shipping costs are the responsibility of the end user.
